Hi, I'm Lara
I am a project manager. A parent. An expat based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually became a new chapter of life living abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn't in the grand plan. As with many expat moves, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a great deal of learning on the job. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Mild Valley Chord
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
